When war erupted in Sudan, Ajak travelled to Egypt as a refugee before settling in Australia. She’s since become a pioneer of our country’s African music scene. A composer, singer and percussionist (and former Tassie resident), she’ll take to the Mofo stage to perform traditional Sudanese gospel, funky afro-beats and songs of the ancient Dinka people.
