Mona
Included in the Three-Day Mona Pass ($139–$179 + booking fee) or relevant Day Pass ($55–$69 + booking fee)

Pharos—named after the Pharos of Alexandria, the lighthouse built for Ptolemy I Soter in about 280 BCE. And a monument to an uncertain legacy.

Mona’s new wing extends over the river and houses four major works by James Turrell that push the boundaries of our perceptual limits, and one each from Jean Tinguely, Charles Ross, Richard Wilson, Randy Polumbo and Nam June Paik.

There, you’ll find Faro Tapas, our new bar (eat, drink, hang out, enjoy the beaut view of the Derwent etc.), where during Mofo, you and your festival-going chums will be serenaded with live music by our festival Artists in Residence.

Some of the artworks in Pharos have additional entry requirements. You’ll need to book a $25 combined ticket to experience Turrell’s Unseen Seen and Weight of Darkness. Entry is timed and limited to two people per session. 18+ only. Please note: if you’re planning on booking these artworks during the Mofo at Mona weekend (Friday 19–Sunday 21 January), you must also have a Three-Day Mona Pass or relevant Day Pass.
